Darude Out of Control

“Out of Control” is a song by Finnish DJ and musician Darude. It was released as a single in 2000 and subsequently appeared on his 2001 album Before the Storm. Despite coming closely on the heels of the hit “Sandstorm” “Out of Control” has never achieved the same kind of critical success.

Darude also mixed another version of the song that appeared a bit later called “Out of Control (Back for More)”, which appeared in 2001.

“Out of Control” was also the subject of a music video, and, like you might expect, it’s a bit strange. There’s lots of underwater mixing and general strangeness. Check it out below.

Label This! is a 2007 electronica album released by Darude. It is his fourth album and runs close to 80 minutes in length. It was his first album in four years, following up after his 2003 release Rush.

Label This! is unique in that each track is meant to flow into the next, thus making the album album one long mix. Thus some of the tracks sound fairly similar, and are meant to be so.

Darude Before The Storm

Released as his debut album in 2001, Darude’s Before The Storm has done well for the musician, allowing him to move on and create the next two albums of his career.

Before The Storm was preceded by Darude’s first single, “Sandstorm”, which proved a smash hit song in the UK. The song alone managed to sell 12 million units worldwide, propelling it to the place of the highest selling 12 inch record in the year 2000.

Before The Storm followed close after and proved a hit, netting Darude 800,000 sales worldwide, hitting the peak of the Finnish charts and getting Darude three Finnish Grammy awards - an outstanding start for a newcomer to the music business.

Darude Tell Me

Darude is a trance producer and DJ from Finland, whose real name is Ville Virtanen. ‘Tell Me’ was released as the first single from the album Label This! released on September 18, 2007.

It features vocals from Wärtzilä member Tonto Nuotio. The original version of the song is nearly eight minutes in length, and there is also a radio edit just over three minutes long. The song was released as a single featuring both original versions of ‘Tell Me’, as well as five remixes. A music video was also filmed and released for the song, featuring a mix of snowboarding footage and sexy girls.

Darude (real name Ville Virtanen) is a trance music producer and DJ from Eura, Hinnerjoki, Finland.

Trance music is a style of electronic music that became popular in the 1980s and is characterized by a tempo between 130 to 160 beats per minute and repeating melodic synthesizer phrases.

In 1999, Darude gave a demo of his trance music song “Sandstorm” to his producer, Jaakko Salovaara. Soon afterward, “Sandstorm” was released as a single.

“Sandstorm” became a massive hit in Finland: it topped the Finnish Single Chart and held the number 1 spot on the Finnish Dance Chart for 17 consecutive weeks. Darude’s fame soon spread to the United Kingdom, where “Sandstorm” became the number 3 single. The song eventually sold 2 million units worldwide. It was the world’s biggest selling 12 inch record in 2000.
